Saline Indoor Winter Farmers Market - Beautiful Handcrafted Items

Featured vendors - Larraine U'Ren and Teresa Swift both make beautiful handcrafted items.
Larraine U’Ren of Raingems Designs in Ypsilanti has been designing jewelry for 30 years.  Her table is abundant with beautiful handcrafted jewelry made from stones and gems from around the world including Chariote and Seraphinite from Russia, Pietersite from Africa along with traditional stones such as Kyanite, Amethyst and Rose Quarts. Her pieces are mostly chunky to medium sizes with a few items that are small and light-weight. She also offers beautiful Silver Kyanite bracelets with matching pendants and earrings.  Visit Raingemsdesigns.etsy.com for more information.
Teresa Swift from Britton tells us that she has been a crafter for years.  When she joined the market in November she had an abundance of knitted and crocheted items including scarves and cowls as well as warm fleece hats which many customers enjoyed buying.  She has added a nice assortment of her beautiful beaded jewelry including bracelets, necklaces with earrings to match and unique hair feathers   You will also find Angry Bird hats…ok so some of us don’t know what that is.  Stop by her table and ask her.  Now the yummy part!  You will find delicious fudge including flavors such as chocolate, raspberry dark chocolate and peanut butter as well as S’mores on a stick which the kids love.
Teresa tells her story:  “My aunt taught me to sew when I was in 6th grade.  She also taught me to knit and crochet and after doing it for years I discovered that I could teach myself to read a pattern.  For years I did wood and dried flower arrangements until that all went out of style.  Then I turned to beading and have enjoyed making many beautiful jewelry pieces.  Part of my enjoyment is watching the faces of the people at the markets and craft shows admiring all the wonderful crafts for sale."   Visit Tsurfer.etsy.com for more information.
The Winter Farmers Market is open 9am-noon every Saturday at Liberty School, 7265 Saline Ann Arbor Road.

Saline Winter Farmers Market now offers pork, sausage, bacon and chicken breasts.

Featured vendor:
Kyle Suchman of Suchman Swine Sausage LLC, Tipton, MI joined in January as a new vendor at our Market and is already becoming a popular destination for our customers.
Suchman’s have been in business since 1996 and offer a variety of sausage, pork products, bacon, chicken breasts and eggs.  One customer shared…”I love their melt in your mouth bacon.”
Kyle said, all of our animals are free range and our meat and eggs are free of antibiotics and hormones.  We hand trim all of our meat before packaging and freezing and we do not use preservatives.  Our feed comes from a local farmer in the Tipton area who does not use GMO seeds to grow his crop.  We feed our animals corn, wheat and oats – no soy is in our feed.  We are very hands on with our animals and treat them well.
Suchman’s also offer farm raised whole Peking ducks, quail and ring neck pheasants which needs to be ordered in advance.
